Making money should be your first and last goal! Game development is expensive! You cannot make awesome games if your first game does not do well.

There are a bunch of videos on YouTube right now about making your first game. Most of the people in those videos will tell you that your first game should be about learning. My question is, why do you need to learn when there is already so much data out there?

The only thing that you may learn during the game development process is how to manage your team and take full advantage of each individual's strength. This is what you should not do:

- Release a game to get feedback.

- Release a unique idea without a fool proof promotion plan.

- Release a game to provide updates in the future based on analytics.

- Release a free game without a plan to charge returning users.

- Release a game with the hope that it will go viral.

You should simply release a game which you think you would want to play! Make an addictive game and remember that your game will not be for everyone. Addictive games are the ones that will help you get rich. At least you should get $100 back if you spent $100 in making a game.
